Gillian Hennessy

Gillian has been coaching for 9 years. She has coached volleyball in a variety of settings from Elementary School Tripleball to Senior Girls High School volleyball and 18U Club volleyball. Gillian believes strongly that volleyball is more than wins and loses or aces and kills. It’s about learning how to be a leader on and off the court. It’s about learning how to be an effective communicator, understanding how to be calm under pressure, and being strong in your beliefs and values no matter the situation. Gillian is looking forward to coaching another club season with Elevate alongside her assistant coaches Shane Hennessy and Lauren Campbell-Van Ryk.

Amanda Dick

Amanda has been coaching volleyball for over 15 years, working with athletes from Atomic (Grade 5) through post-secondary across both girls and boys programs. As a Certified Advanced Development coach, she brings technical expertise and a deep commitment to developing the whole athlete.

For Amanda, coaching is about more than perfecting skills—it's about shaping the leaders of tomorrow. She believes the court is where young people learn resilience, accountability, and how to push through challenges, qualities that will serve them long after their playing days end. Competitive by nature, she sees competition as the vehicle for growth, not just the pursuit of wins. Her focus is on building athletes who lead with confidence, communicate with clarity, and understand that their potential extends far beyond the game itself.

Mark Huberts

With 35 years of coaching experience across all age groups and skill levels, Coach Mark believes in developing athletes through strong relationships and helping them reach their full potential. As a former TWU and Jr. National Team player, he brings both competitive experience and a genuine passion for youth development. Currently he is Vice Principal at Unity Christian School, where he coaches the Sr. Boys team, and he has dedicated years to club volleyball coaching. His approach emphasizes personal growth alongside skill development—creating an environment where young athletes are challenged, supported, and empowered to discover what they're truly capable of achieving.

Megan Munroe

Coach Megan brings expertise, precision, and an unwavering belief that every athlete can push beyond what they think is possible. A former TeamBC player who competed as both a Libero and Setter, she has a keen focus on setting and defensive work. As a long-time assistant coach with multiple provincial gold medals to her name, Megan has led countless Elevate training sessions over the years, helping athletes refine their technical skills and reach new levels of performance. She maintains high standards and challenges her players to embrace growth, creating an environment where dedicated athletes thrive. Her coaching philosophy is simple: there are no limitations, only opportunities to improve.

Heidi Jonk

With a passion for volleyball that has spanned over two decades, Coach Heidi is thrilled to be a part of the journey that young girls take as they learn and grow in this incredible sport. Her commitment to volleyball is not just about the game; it’s about building connections, fostering growth, and inspiring young athletes to reach their full potential. Her coaching philosophy centres on more than just winning games; it’s about developing well-rounded athletes both on and off the court. She beleives in creating an environment where girls can not only refine their volleyball skills but also build character, discipline, and teamwork.

Jennifer Harris

Coach Jenn has been coaching at both the school and club level for several years. She believes in the importance of developing strong fundamentals in athletes.  She values work ethic and promotes a positive team atmosphere. Jenn encourages athletes to take risks and to push past what is comfortable in order to achieve the greatest gains.  She is passionate about coaching and is looking forward to another great year coaching with Elevate.

Shane Hennessy

Shane Hennessy has been coaching volleyball in the school and club context for over 11 years, including athletes as young as grade 7 and as old as grade 12. Shane beleives in using sport to help develop not only athletic skill but also personal growth and build an awareness of community. There are many transferable skills thorugh the process of training and playing sport. Shane works hard to see every athlete in his gym grow in their self-confidence and their problem solving through guided learning.

Leasa Lepine

Leasa coaches with her two daughters, Anna-Marie and Kathleen. She has coached a variety of sports for over 20 years with softball and volleyball being her favourites. Leasa’s volleyball coaching has included athletes from 13U all the way to 18U, at both the school and club level. Her expectations are simple: show up with a positive attitude, give 100% all the time, be a team player, and demonstrate respect and sportsmanship to coaches, referees, teammates, parents, and opponents. Her goal is to develop players both physically and mentally through the game of volleyball, and to transfer their learning into real life.

Marlo Haarstad

Marlo has been coaching sports for a few years and is passionate about volleyball. She and her husband have raised three athletes who went on to compete at high levels in their sports. Her values include family, commitment and dedication.
She is excited to help young athletes to commit to their journey through volleyball. Her goal is to inspire young athletes to acquire both physical skills and personal growth through character, athletic ability, and skill development within a team setting. She believes determination and commitment are key factors to achieving maximum success on and off the court.
She strives for a balance of a competitive yet enjoyable environment. Her belief is a committed player will contribute to the team success as they develop into great athletes.

Michael Dyck

Michael is a father of three girls, who values family, friends and faith. He believes that great success comes from hard work. He was an avid volleyball player, basketball player and golfer throughout high school and college. Michael has recently come back to the game of volleyball as a coach and looks forward to encouraging the players as they develop in their skills both in the game and in life.

Rob Heppner

Rob has been teaching & coaching Volleyball for the past 10 years from grades 6-12 in the public school system. He is passionate about player development and fostering a positive team culture. He believes competitive sports teach life skills such as respect, responsibility, dedication, and resilience. By creating a safe environment for athletes to collaborate, take risks, and learn from their mistakes, Rob aims to empower his players as they navigate both the game and life. He is excited to start the volleyball season.

Sara Epp

Sara Epp is in her second year with Elevate Volleyball, bringing her passion for the game to young athletes. Last season, she coached the U13 Ice team, building on her extensive experience as a player in both high school and college, and her ongoing participation in a local women's league.
Sara is committed to cultivating a positive team culture, where athletes not only grow their skills but also develop a deep love for the sport. She emphasizes teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship, both on and off the court, while fostering a competitive, yet supportive, environment.

Dan Loewen

Dan Loewen is a dedicated volleyball coach who blends competitive experience with a passion for developing young athletes—both on and off the court. A former collegiate player, Dan coaches high-school and club teams with a focus on growth, discipline, and teamwork. His philosophy centers on becoming better every day, controlling what you can, and viewing mistakes as opportunities to learn. Dan’s approach focuses on measuring and attaining peak performance for each athlete—challenging them to play the best game they’ve ever played every time they step on the court. He integrates technical precision with mental frameworks that build resilience, sharpen focus, and unlock elite performance.
